Corresponding angles is the name given to angles on the same side of a transversal line which cuts two parallel lines. The angles correspond with each other – they appear in the same location with respect to the parallel lines and the transversal.
Pairs of angles which are corresponding are equal in size. This fact about corresponding angles, along with other angle facts, such as opposite angles are equal and alternate angles are equal, can be used to find the size of missing angles in a diagram. Various angle rules may need to be applied to solve a problem.
Looking forward, students can then progress to additional geometry worksheets, for example a how to work out surface area worksheet or volume of prisms worksheet.
