The geometric shape called a rhombus is a quadrilateral with 4 side lengths that are equal. The opposite sides of a rhombus and the opposite angles of a rhombus are equal. The diagonals of a rhombus are perpendicular bisectors of each other (they intersect in the middle of each line at right angles).
To find the area of the rhombus we multiply the lengths of the diagonals and divide by 2. The area formula for a rhombus is therefore “diagonal 1 x diagonal 2, divided by 2”. Remember that area is measured in square units, e.g. mm2, cm2 or m2.
