Best buy problems involve looking at different offers and identifying which offer presents the best value for money. Best buy problems cover a variety of types of comparison. These include:
Unitary Method
This involves taking two different pack sizes, for example, and calculating the cost of one unit for each pack size by dividing the total cost by the number of units.
Exchange Rates
This involves comparing the cost of the item in different currencies by converting the values to the same currency.
Offers and price reductions
Offers may involve a fractional or percentage change of a price which needs to be calculated before determining the best value for money. Buy one get one free is the same offer as two for the price of one or half price (for any multiple of 2 items).
